Academic Advising at UF
Academic advising services at the University of Florida are provided to students in many ways. Students have major and degree specific advising through advisers in their college. This is often the best source of information about your degree requirements, questions about tracking requirements, placement or prerequisites for courses you are planning to take, and the ISIS registration system.
Career advising is often an important link to choosing the right major. At the University of Florida, career advising related to major selection is offered through the UF Career Resource Center as well as the UF Counseling Center. Students interested in pre-health or pre-law careers can learn more about opportunities in those fields by visiting the Academic Advising Center.
Interests often change as students are exposed to new majors and careers while at the University of Florida. Students interesting in changing their major should visit with the academic advisers of the intended major as early as possible to ensure the widest range of academic choices. Students still exploring majors are also encouraged to visit early with academic advisers and to take advantage of the information about majors offered by UF.
