Success at UF
Success at UF starts in the classroom but does not end there. UF encourages you to engage in Strategies for Success. Research with faculty, internships, volunteer service, overseas study, and leadership experiences are only a few of the strategies for success at UF.
Research with faculty offers undergraduate students opportunities to create and apply knowledge in their fields of study. Programs like the University Scholars Program provide opportunities for funded summer research with a faculty member, as well as opportunities to publish and present research.
Internships provide real world opportunities to test your career choices as well as gain valuable experience in your field. UF offers academic credit for internships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, as well as businesses. The UF Career Resource Center provides up to date internship information.
Members of the Gator Nation are prepared to contribute to todays global society. Study abroad through the University International Center offers students over 70 international programs ranging from a few weeks to an entire academic year in length.
Gators make a difference through service to their community, the state, and the nation. UF student organizations provide service opportunities in Gainesville and other areas. Minors such as Organizational Leadership for Non-Profits provide an academic basis for service-oriented careers.
Gators learn to lead and enhance leadership skills through special leadership conferences, courses and a leadership minor. Leadership opportunities exist at UF through Student Government and over 700 student organizations.
